More Info
About ClubGRANTS The ClubGRANTS Scheme is a community development grants program funded by local clubs and administered by AlburyCity. The scheme is designed to ensure that larger registered clubs in NSW contribute to the provision of frontline services to their local communities; and to ensure that the disadvantaged in the community are better positioned to benefit from the substantial contributions made by those clubs. The Gaming Machine Tax Act 2001 enables registered clubs with gaming machine profits over $1 million to apply for a tax rebate (of up to 1.85%). The tax rebate is used to provide grants to not-for-profit community organisations for community projects. AlburyCity does not financially contribute to the program but assists the local ClubGRANTS Committee by administering the application process. Local Clubs that are members of the ClubGRANTS Committee in the Albury Local Government Area (LGA) are:

Applications are reviewed regularly with funding for approved applications within three months of application. Our Club is focused on supporting local communities and we encourage all applicants to do the same. Before completing your application, make sure your organisation is updated with correct contact details. Category 2 is to assist general community development and support activities, such as junior sport and ideally should produce a return on the investment to the Club. Our expenditure should be targeted at changing behaviors in the community, changing an image and customer awareness (branding) and loyalty. We are inundated with requests for Category 2 (in kind) funding and we need to have strategies to process these. For each Category 2 (in kind) request for funding, they are first evaluated to check for the benefits to our Club. We need to ensure we are getting a return (e.g. signage, recognition in newsletters, hosting their events in our Club etc). We can allocated 1.1% of our regulated contributions towards this category. We can allocate less (i.e. more to Category 1) but the total must be 1.85% or more. |
