Applications are now being accepted for Category 1 Funding under the ClubGRANTS Scheme 2024 for the Goulburn Mulwaree Local Government Area. Goulburn and district community organisations may apply for funding towards local community service needs and priorities from the ClubGrants scheme. The ClubGRANTS scheme allows Registered Clubs with annual gaming revenue exceeding $1 million to apply 1.5% of gaming machine revenue to specific community development and support projects. The Goulburn Workers’ Club and Goulburn and District Soldiers’ Club both participate in the ClubGRANTS Scheme. Category 1 Funding At least 50% of funding from each club is to be allocated to “Category 1” projects. Category 1 supports community welfare and social services; community development; employment assistance activities; community health services; and projects aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people. Projects in the following categories qualify for Category 1 funding:
Funding applications for programs, projects and services assisting people with disabilities, older people, people from non-English speaking backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, women and young people are particularly encouraged. Goulburn Mulwaree Council administers the ClubGRANTS Scheme locally on behalf of the Goulburn Workers’ Club and Goulburn Soldiers’ Club. The ClubGRANTS Committee will identify the local priorities from the applications received and make recommendations to participating ClubGRANTS Clubs. Local community groups are encouraged to apply for funding with a new round of the ClubGRANTS program now open. ClubGRANTS Category 1 is currently accepting applications for initiatives that support welfare and social services, community development, employment assistance activities, health services, and projects aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people. The committee will also consider other local identified needs within the Shoalhaven. The Shoalhaven Local Committee has identified the following priority areas for funding support in the Shoalhaven: safe & prepared communities, affordable housing opportunities, vibrant culture & connected communities, sustainable environments, children & families thrive, healthy & active communities, opportunities for lifelong learning, economic opportunities, and accessible transport. Examples of projects that could be eligible under these priority areas include, but are not limited to: disaster preparedness training, tenancy support programs, multicultural festivals, bush regeneration activities, healthy eating programs, short fee free courses, financial literacy programs and community transport initiatives, to name a few. Submissions will be reviewed by the Shoalhaven Local Committee which comprises representatives from Shoalhaven City Council, Department of Communities and Justice, Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, Shoalhaven Neighbourhood Services, and registered local licensed clubs in the Shoalhaven. In 2023 the registered Clubs funded over 35 applications providing a combined total funding over $235,000.00 to support initiatives across the Shoalhaven to enable our community to thrive. Wollongong City Council - Category 1 Grant Round 2024 The 2024 round of ClubGRANTS is opening on Thursday 1st February 2024 and will close on Friday 31st May 2024. The local committee membership makes up 2x Wollongong City Council representatives, 2x Club Manager representatives, 1x Community Industry representative and 1x Department of Communities and Justice representative. List of Local Priorities: The meeting to review and prioritise all received applications will be held by the local committee on Tuesday, 2nd July 2024. After careful review, the applications will be ranked based on their priorities. Shortly after the meeting, all clubs will receive copies of this information to peruse. The subsequent meeting, scheduled for Thursday, 8th August 2024, will bring together all participating clubs to discuss the applications and allocate funds accordingly. Notification of successful and unsuccessful applications will be finalised by September 2024, with grant fund money being finalised shortly after.
