The Sydney CBD ClubGRANTS committee encompasses the  following venues:

• Bowlers Club of NSW (Club York)
• City Tattersalls Group (inc The Castlereagh and The Barracks)
• City of Sydney RSL (Club Sydney)

Eligibility

• Local, eligible not-for-profit organisations and community groups are encouraged to apply and can submit up to two applications
• Projects must benefit the residents of Sydney CBD
• Projects must meet the ClubGRANTS Category 1 expenditure criteria

The ClubGRANTS Guildlines set out the full eligibility criteria. All applications must be made via ClubGRANTS online.

All previous recipients must fully expend their funds before the next grant round opens.

The Inner West Club Grants Committee welcomes submissions from local community groups for Category 1 projects.  

Category 1 funding is specifically for local projects and/or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community and are aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged communities. 

The Local priorities for 2024 are: 

• Aboriginal Reconciliation and wellbeing 

• Encouraging gender equity, addressing violence against women and children  

• Encouraging participation from multicultural communities 

• Addressing racism and discrimination 

• Encouraging young people's heath, wellbeing, and engagement 

• Homelessness 

• Financial literacy 

How to apply for Category 1 funding?  

1. Read the ClubGRANTS funding guidelines available at: www.clubgrants.com.au/how-to-apply 

2. Read the Inner West ClubGRANTS Local Priorities listed above. 

3. Create an account and apply online at: www.clubgrants.com.au  

4. Register and select the (LGA) Round. You only need to apply once as the application will be reviewed by all clubs within the (LGA) Local Committee. 

All applications are to be completed through ClubGRANTS Online.

Supports community welfare and social services; community development; employment assistance activities; community health services; and projects aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people.

Eligible Category 1 expenditure is for projects and/or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community, and are aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people.

You are considered eligible for Category 1 funding if your project falls under specific community welfare and social services, community development, health services and employment assistance activities, and other projects aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people.

Local Area Priorities for Randwick

All applications will be assessed against the Randwick City Council’s, Local Area Priorities, identified in Council’s 'Social Needs Study' 2021.

• Targeted youth services
• Mental health and wellbeing
• Domestic and family violence
• Indigenous communities
• Housing affordability/homelessness
• In-home support services

For all Category 1 Funding

ClubGRANTS are an initiative of the NSW Government and Clubs NSW to provide funding for community projects and services that have a direct impact on local communities.

Charities, sporting organisations and not-for-profit community groups are among tens-of-thousands of worthy causes funded through the program each year.

ClubGRANTS are funded by a gaming machine tax rebate. Council does not financially contribute to the program but assists the local ClubGRANTS Committee by administering the application process.

Local non-profit community groups and organisations can apply for funding under the following Category 1 subcategories, specifically support projects for:

• Specific community welfare and social services 
• Community development projects, activities or events 
• Health services and employment assistance activities 
• Projects aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people 
• The ClubGRANTS Committee only funds Community Development projects that will benefit the local Bayside LGA residents.

• Georges River 16ft Sailing Club
• Rockdale Tennis Club, Earlwood - Bardwell Park RSL

Forestville RSL Category 1 - 2023/2024

Broadly, Category 1 ClubGRANTS funding is for the provision of:

• Community welfare and social services, community development, community health services and employment assistance activities.
• Projects and/or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community, aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people.

Preference will be given to projects and services that:

Are delivered by locally based organisations that benefit residents of the Northern Beaches

• Meet the Local Priorities for the Northern Beaches area – refer to the Northern Beaches LGA page https://www.northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au/council/grants/clubgrants/applying-category-1-clubgrants on the Local Committee Index 
• Are not readily assisted by existing Government funding programs.

• Priority populations identified in Council’s Better Together, Social Sustainability Strategy 2040:  Young people, Older people, People living with disability, Families, Culturally and linguistically diverse people, First nations people & Essential workers

About the ClubGRANTS Scheme

What is ClubGRANTS?

• ClubGRANTS is a community development grants program funded by local clubs and administered by Cumberland Council.

What can I apply for?

• The Clubs for Cumberland ClubGRANTS Scheme will fund projects that address the following priorities: Community Welfare and Social Services, Financial Literacy/Relief, Education and Employment.

Who can apply?

• Local non-profit community based, incorporated organisations, Schools and Councils with an Australian Business Number (ABN) can apply. Organisations without an ABN must be sponsored by an incorporated organisation.

Where can I find support in completing my grant application?

• Cumberland City Council provides a range of support mechanisms to assist potential applicants. Formal grant writing workshops, information sessions and one on one advisory desks are all available. Follow the link to Council's website for more information
