Only use this form to apply if you are seeking Category 1 CASH SUPPORT from Dee Why RSL.
Broadly, Category 1 ClubGRANTs funding support is for the provision of:
- projects and/or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community, and are aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people.
- Applications that aim to reduce social disadvantage and have a prevention/ early intervention focus will generally be ranked highly by the local ClubGRANTs assessment panel; as well as programs and projects that promote a safe, inclusive and connected community.
Preference will be given to projects and programs that:
- Are delivered by locally based organisations that benefit residents of the Northern Beaches
- Meet the Local Priorities for the Northern Beaches
- Are not readily assisted by existing Government funding programs
Local Area Priorities:
- Support and promote mental health and wellbeing – particularly programs that increase access to mental health and wellbeing programs for priority populations.
- Increase community safety and help prevent crime – particularly programs that raise awareness of and address elder abuse, scams and fraud, domestic and family violence and drug and alcohol-related issues for priority populations.
- Reduce social isolation and increase community connectedness and inclusion for priority populations:
- Promote and celebrate our community’s diversity and welcome new residents to the area;
- Encourage inclusion of priority groups in the planning of and participation in events, activities and services;
- Provide opportunities for community skill building such as increasing online participation and intergenerational transfer of skills;
- Advocate for innovative approaches for housing affordability and decreasing homelessness;
- Support volunteering.
- Enhance employment opportunities and economic outcomes for those who experience barriers to the workforce and economic participation such as people living with disability, people from multicultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and young people.
- Ensure public safety eg. water/surf safety, emergency services.
Priority populations identified in Council’s Better Together, Social Sustainability Strategy 2040:
- Young people
- Older people
- People living with disability
- Families
- Culturally and linguistically diverse people
- First nations people
- Essential workers
Please note:
- To be eligible to apply, you must be a not-for-profit organisation or be auspiced by a not-for-profit organisation.
- Applications are centrally assessed by the local ClubGRANTs Committee to prevent applicants making multiple applications for the same projects.
- Final funding decisions are made by the DYRSL Board and will be finalised by August 2024, after which all applicants will be contacted about the outcome of their application
